The BSCC weekend backpack food program serving Blue Springs, Grain Valley and Raytown students will continue this school year. Since 2012 this program has grown from supporting 60 students to supporting 160+ students this year! This BSCC effort, called PACKS & KIDS (PAK), needs financial and volunteer support. Here’s how you can serve!
VOLUNTEER: We need many individuals to fill plastic sacks (typically on Thursday evenings) via a rotating schedule. We welcome families, groups of all ages & outside community groups to sign up. Sign up to sack here. EVEN IF YOU HAVE SERVED IN THE PAK MINISTRY IN THE PAST, YOU’LL NEED TO SIGN UP AGAIN THIS SCHOOL YEAR!
GIVE: For the upcoming school year, our weekend backpack food program must be sustained via the financial support from BSCC individuals & families. We are seeking dedicated givers to provide $17,000 from Sept. 2018 through May 2019. to support 160+ students at Moreland Ridge Middle School, the Freshman Center, both Grain Valley Middle Schools and Raytown High School. BSCC volunteers also pack & deliver food from the Harvesters Food Network “BackSnack” program to Blue Springs Elementary students at Cordill Mason & Daniel Young. Beginning today, through the school year — you can give financially.
You can donate any amount via a one-time financial gift (or an occasional gift) to BSCC via check or by giving online. Donations via checks to BSCC should include “PAK” in the memo line and online giving should designate funds to the “PAK” account.
PRAY: Above all, we ask that you pray for the students and their families this school year.
