FEEDING THOSE WHO SERVE KIDS: On Friday, March 29, we will prepare serve lunches for faculty and staff at Cordill Mason Elementary School and FosterAdopt Connect.
HARVESTERS’ mission is to feed hungry people today and work to end hunger tomorrow. Join us Saturday, March 30, as we help sort and repackage food that feeds 141,000 people in our community every month. This serve opportunity is available to for those who are 8 years old and older. We ask that each individual bring one sack of non-perishable goods to participate.
HILLCREST THRIFT STORE supports the operations of Hillcrest Transitional Housing, a housing and educational program for local homeless. Join us on Saturday, March 30, from 2:00-5:00pm, as we sort clothes and assist with customer service.
FOSTERADOPT CONNECT is a local nonprofit supporting children and families impacted by foster care. On Saturday, March 30, we will help at their Independence location organizing their clothing closet and, weather permitting, may have additional projects. This serve opportunity is available to for those who are 5 years old and older.
SLEEP IN HEAVENLY PEACE is an organization that utilizes volunteers dedicated to building, assembling and delivering bunk beds to children in need so that no child sleeps on the floor in our community. Volunteers will help to build new bunk beds in BSCC’s west parking lot on Saturday, March 30. To participate, volunteers must be 8 years of age or older. No experience is needed as trained volunteers will be on-site to assist with explaining and leading the build. Lunch will be provided.
FOSTER PARENTS DAY OUT: On Saturday, March 30, we will provide activities and lunch for foster children and the biological children of foster families. It will be a day full of fun and care while the parents get some time away.
SERVE OUR NEIGHBORS: Join us as we serve BSCC’s Southgate neighbors with simple yard cleanup and debris removal on Sunday, March 31. It’s a great opportunity to serve in our community as a family.
New On The Move T-shirts are needed for all projects. To help cover the cost of the shirts, we are asking for a $5 donation per person when you pick up your shirt.
