Easter in Kids’ Worship

This week we celebrated Easter and wrapped up our study of Hope by learning about Jesus’ resurrection. Last Sunday things looked pretty dark. Jesus had died on the cross and was buried in a sealed tomb. We had to remember that whatever happens, God is still at work. This week we celebrated the resurrection! We learned how Mary Magdalene discovered the empty tomb and how she told the disciples. And after they saw the risen Jesus, they spread the word…

This Week in Kids’ Worship

This week in Elementary and Preteen Worship we continued to learn about Hope – believing that something good can come out of something bad. We learned about Jesus’ arrest, trial, and crucifixion. Things didn’t look too good at the end of our story. That’s why our bottom line this week is “Whatever happens, remember God is still at work.” Like our memory verse, John 16:33b, says, bad things happen. When bad things do happen, when trouble comes, that is when we…

This Week in Kid’s Worship

This week in Elementary and Preteen Worship we continued to learn about Hope – believing that something good can come out of something bad. We learned that if we follow Jesus, then we have a lot to be hopeful about. We looked at some of the promises that Jesus made to his followers and we looked closely at the promise that we are using as our memory verse this month – John 16:33b. This week take the time to ask…

Let’s talk about it (part 2)

We continued our series “That’s what he Said” in our student service this week by hearing about How Jesus is the Good Shepard. Lori preached about this yesterday and challenged our students about the influences in their life. The people that will “steal” the good that God is trying to do in their life. We encourage you to grab these questions, and talk to your students about what they heard this past Sunday. We want to continue partnering with you…

One thing I learned from being a disciple of Jesus

We have started a new sermon series called “Portrait of a Disciple”. Our Outreach Minster, Steve Wieduwilt, has kicked off the series this past Sunday. If you didn’t get a chance to listen to it, you can listen/watch it here. As a church, we are looking at how to be a true disciple of Jesus. We are very excited about how God is going to be moving us and growing us through this series. A loss of best friends When I was in…

Let’s talk about it (Middle and High School Parents)

Hey Parents! We hope that you have started asking your students what they are learning about in our student service. Right now we are going over a sermon series called “Thats What He said”. Throughout this series we are looking at some of the 7 “I am” statements that Jesus said through the book of John. We are really challenging our students to make some changes in life and challenging their walk with Christ. As we continue to partner with…

This week in Kids’ Worship

When you are young, the dark can make the most familiar room a scary place. Sounds and imagination combine to create fear. But a small night light can chase both the darkness and the fear away,  giving the most fearful heart hope. For the month of March, both Elementary Worship and Preteen Worship are learning about HOPE – believing something good can come out of something bad. Bad things are going to happen. The Bible tells us that. But the…
