Serve Opportunities
Below you will find a list of Serve Opportunities. For more information or to try a First Serve, contact the Heart to Serve Team.
Host Team (First Impressions): Greet, welcome and aid in check-in/check-out procedures. 1hr/wk every week.
Large Group Teacher: Prepares, presents and oversees large group lesson. .5-1 hour practice 1x/wk AND 5hrs/wk for 1 month.
Small Group Leaders: Lead a group of 10-12 children in building relationships, preparing for the lesson, and life application activities. 1.5hrs 1x/wk.
Worship Leader: Prepares & leads worship service while coordinating with Large Group Teacher. .5 1hr/wk rehearsal AND 5hrs for Sunday Services 1x/mo.
Production Team: Prepares and presents audio-visual elements during Worship service. Oversees KidServe A/V Team. Rotational time commitment.

Production Team: Prepares and presents audio-visual elements during Worship service. Oversees KidServe A/V Team 2.5hrs/wk; 2wks/mo.
Care Providers: Provide love and care to children age birth-3 while parents attend worship service. 1.25hrs/wk, 1wk/mo.
Classroom Teachers: Prepares and presents the lesson, orders and organizes the room and activities for children ages 3-5. 1.5hrs/wk.
Classroom Assistants: Works with the children and assists the classroom teacher for children ages 3-5. 1.5hrs/wk.
Student Serve Opportunities:
Focus Team: Prepare a thought to share that will transition into Communion. A team leader is available to help. 1x/wk (preparation: .5/1hr).
Host Team: Greet, prepare communion, serve communion 30m-1h 1x/wk
Production Team: Serve on one of the following teams: Lighting Team, Sound Team, Power Point Team, or Set up team. 2-2.5h/wk 1x/m.
Adult Serve Opportunities:
Coach: Responsible for investing relationally in their volunteer team (either 3 Team Coordinators or 6 Small Group leaders), communicating opportunities, for training and development, and providing consistent support.
Small Group Leaders: Either meets with a middle school or high school group of 8-10 students for the purpose of community, discipleship and prayer. 2h/wk.
Team Coordinators: Coordinate a team of people serving on the Host, Focus, Production, Snack Shack or Service Project Teams 1h/wk.
Coach: Serve no more than 5 leaders and encourage them in their ministry. They serve with the minister over the area.
Leader: Oversee the ministry by using volunteers to operate the ministry.
Apprentices: Serve with the coaches or leader to learn the ministry responsibilities with the goal of becoming a leader.
Financial Freedom Team: Serve on a team that provides budget assistance and hints for debt reduction. Training is required to be a budget assistant.
Hospital Visit Team: Serve on a rotational basis visiting area hospitals to encourage BSCC attendees who are receiving care in the hospital.
Feed the Need Team: Help organize an after funeral meal. This includes set up, prepare side dishes, and serve at the event.
Food Bank Team: Stock our food storage area and to fill orders. 1x/wk.
Prayer Warriors Team: Meet weekly to pray for attendees and guests who request prayer via the welcome card. 2hrs/wk.
Shut-in Server Team: Serve on a rotational basis to take communion to member of BSCC that are unable to get out of their homes on a Sunday. 1x/wk.
Small Group Leaders: Provide guidance and care for a group of individuals you are serving. Church membership is required.
Interview Team: Make phone contact with people who have filled out an online interest form, a spiritual gift survey, or who have conveyed interest in serving via the welcome card.
Follow Up Team: Make phone contact within 1 month after an individual has begun serving.
Worship Response Team: Serve at the end of each worship service to help people take next steps of faith. 30m/wk, 1x/mo.
Connecting With Christ Team: Meet with individuals 1-on-1 for personal Bible exploration, answer questions about God and the Bible. 1.5hrs/lesson, up to 3/mo.
Baptism Team: After a baptism occurs this team steps in to wash, fold and restock the Baptism closet. 1hr/wk, 1x/mo.
Follow Up Team: This team will follow up on responses from the weekly welcome card by meeting 1-on-1 with individuals/couples for bible exploration/discussion. 1x/mo.
TGIW Host Team: Prepare coffee, load & transport items to Culvers restaurant, set up/clean up and return materials back to church. 6-7:30am/wk, 1wk/mo.
Small Group Leaders: Serve a group of 10-15 men by preparing a bible study, facilitating the group and working with apprentice leaders. 1x/wk for 6-8wks + preparation time.
Events Team: Set up/take down tables and chairs, serve at an information kiosk, cooking, or general help during a retreat. 1x/quarter.
Coffee House Team: Serve food and drinks during Sunday morning Worship times, stock, & clean. 1.5-3hrs/wk, 1wks/mo.
Greeters Team: Assist guest and attendees, distribute Sunday bulletins, guide and direct people & provide information. 1.5hr/wk, 1wk/mo.
New Movers Welcome Team: Be a part of a team that coordinates the compilation and distribution of BSCC gift boxes, track and support documentation. 1hr, 1x/mo.
Traffic Team: Be a part of a team that coordinates good traffic flow, welcomes guest onto our campus, provides outdoor assistance & assist with parking issues. 2hrswk, 1wks/mo.
Users Team: Helps Sunday Morning Worship attendees to find seats in the Ministry Center, set up additional chairs as needed, provide information. 1.5hrs/wk, 1x/mo.
Welcome Kiosk Team: Be a part of a team that communicates resources, provides direction and assist guests as needed. 1.5hrs/wk.
Cookie Ministry Team: You can choose to bake cookies (1x/quarter), prepare/deliver cookies within 36 hours of a guest’s visit (1x/mo), or input data & prepare maps (1hr/wk, 1x/mo).
Audio: Record, prepare masters, and make copies of the Sunday morning service. Must attend 8:15 service 1.5hr/wk, 1-2x/mo.
Camera Team: Film and broadcast the service to compliment the Worship experience. 5hrs during Sunday Morning Worship, 1x/mo.
Communion Preparation: Come on Friday or Saturday to prepare communion trays AND on Sunday afternoons or Monday to clean trays. 2x/wk for 1m/yr???
Director: Maintain the flow of the service by cuing the production team of upcoming elements during Sunday morning Worship services. 5.5hrs/wk, 1wk/mo.
Lighting: Operate the lighting console on Sunday morning. Attend mid-week rehearsal to reprogram the lights for various worship elements if needed. Midweek rehearsal 2hrs/wk AND Sunday Morning Worship 5.5 hrs/wk, 1wk/mo.
Power Point: Operate PowerPoint presentation used during Sunday Morning Worship Services. Midweek Rehearsal 2 hrs AND Sunday Morning Worship 5.5hrs 1x/mo
Servers: Distribute communion and offering trays during a Sunday Morning Worship. 1hr/wk; 1x/mo.
Sound: Set up, take down, and operate the sound board for mid-week rehearsals and Sunday morning Worship Services. Mid-week rehearsal 3hrs, 1x/mo AND Sunday morning worship 6hrs 1x/mo.
Stage Manager: Serve backstage cueing musicians and setting up drama sets. 5hrs 1x/mo.
Video Director: Operate video switcher and assign shots to camera operators during Sunday morning Worship service. Verify all videos are loaded on the switcher and test each of them prior to 1st service beginning. Sunday morning Worship 6hrs/wk, 1wk/mo.
Video Editing: Be involved in all aspects of the video productions used for worship services and special events. Time varies per project.
Drama: Help create special moments to be utilized during Sunday Morning Worship or Special Events. Time commitment varies per project.

Praise Band & Vocals: Serve on a team to create a meaningful time of worship and praise for our congregation. Mid-week rehearsal 2-3 hours 1x/mo AND Sunday Morning Worship 5.5hrs 1x/mo.
Stage Design: Identify a stage design for each message series and execute it. This includes securing any props, repositioning lighting fixtures, change out gels and program the lighting console. Time commitment varies by theme. 5hrs/wk, 1wk/mo.
