This Week in Kids’ Worship

This week we continued to learn about Contentment – deciding to be happy with what God has given us, and our focus was on Focus. We learned about Jesus’ parable of the Rich Fool who thought that because his fields had produced more grain than he could use in a lifetime that he should build bigger barns to hoard all he had and live a life of leisure. But Jesus taught that we are to be generous with what God…

Viral (A student sermon series) pt. 2

Parents! We hope that your student(s) are enjoying this sermon series. We just finished up part 2 of 3 in this series. In part 2 we talked about how we need to be active in serving! That it needs to be viral, it needs to spread in all areas of our life but most importantly that we need to be active in seeing where needs need to be met.   Below are some questions you can ask your student(s) about part…

Viral (A student sermon series)

Hey Parents! Yesterday we started a brand new sermon series in our student service called “Viral”. In this series we are talking about some habits in our life that we want to go viral. Yesterday we started off by talking about being more generous and that being greedy stops us from being generous.   Below are the questions you can ask your student(s) about: Name something that’s gone viral recently. Why do you think it spread quickly? If someone asked…

This Week in Kidventure

This week in Elementary and Preteen Worship we started a new month and a new Life App. For the month of May we are going to learning about Contentment – Deciding to be Happy with what you’ve got. We looked at the Apostle Paul and how he had learned the secret to being content, no matter what. Whether he was in prison or free, whether he was hungry or well fed, Paul learned he could be content when he focused…

PARENT CUE FOR NEW STUDENT MINISTRY SERMON SERIES PT 2

We are on week 2 of the series Plot Twist! We heard some good challenging points from the sermon yesterday. If your student was here yesterday, we encourage you to ask them what they heard. s   Here are a few of questions to ask just in case they forgot 🙂   In what ways do you feel like we, as a family, misunderstand you? Why is that frustrating or disappointing? On Sunday, they talked about how Paul may have felt like…

Snap That Week 3 (Student ministry sermon series)

We have come to the end of the series called “Snap That”. This is a series that we really enjoyed, not only the people who got to speak but also for the students that got the chance to hear it and get challenged by it.   The last week focused on the fact that our sin changes our relationship with God. Lori, our one of the pastors on staff, spoke about how God is always the same. He has never…

Snap That Week 2 (Student Ministry Sermon Series)

This past Sunday we continued our series called “Snap That”. In week 2 we basically talked about how sin changes our relationship with the people around us. We focused on the story of David and Bathsheba in 2 Samuel 11 and 12. We would encourage you to read that story, it takes about 9 mins to read it.   Here are some questions that you can ask your student to continue the conversation about this weeks sermon:   Have you…

This week in Kids’ Worship

This past Sunday in Elementary and Preteen Worship, we started to learn about a new life app – Perseverance. We learned that perseverance is refusing to give up when life gets hard. We remembered last month’s memory verse (John 16:33B) and that it had two promises – the one we all remember, that Jesus has overcome the world, and the one we would rather not remember, that in this world we will have trouble. We don’t like trouble. We don’t…

Snap That (student ministry sermon Series)

Yesterday our student ministry started a sermon series called “Snap That”. “Snap That” is a three week look at The Garden of Eden, and how sin changes our relationships.  “Snap That” is an intentional play on words and reference to the popular messaging app “snapchat.”  Snapchat has been in the news quite a bit as the source of all kinds of inappropriate conversations and relationships. Part of the allure of the app is that you can send a picture or…

Easter in Kids’ Worship

This week we celebrated Easter and wrapped up our study of Hope by learning about Jesus’ resurrection. Last Sunday things looked pretty dark. Jesus had died on the cross and was buried in a sealed tomb. We had to remember that whatever happens, God is still at work. This week we celebrated the resurrection! We learned how Mary Magdalene discovered the empty tomb and how she told the disciples. And after they saw the risen Jesus, they spread the word…

This Week in Kid’s Worship

This week in Elementary and Preteen Worship we continued to learn about Hope – believing that something good can come out of something bad. We learned that if we follow Jesus, then we have a lot to be hopeful about. We looked at some of the promises that Jesus made to his followers and we looked closely at the promise that we are using as our memory verse this month – John 16:33b. This week take the time to ask…
