Short Term Mission Trips

Short Term Mission Trips

In 2014, the Missions Team once again would like you to have the opportunity to serve both inside & outside of our borders. We have been so blessed to support some amazing ministries around the world that are having an impact for Christ. This year we will offer 3 mission trips to allow you to serve in a way that uses the gifts & abilities that God has blessed you with, to encourage the people we serve & have an impact for Jesus. There is something for everyone. The Missions Team asks that you prayerfully consider how God can use you in any of these 3 locations.

Port de Paix, Haiti
March 22-29

Servants will help with students & possibly even teach classes at the Sonlight Christian Academy. It also gives us a chance to mix with students & teachers & give much needed encouragement. We’ll also have the opportunity to give encouragement & support to Scott, Alicia, Alaina & Anessa Bridges.

Kenya, Africa
June 13-27

Servants will be able to encourage & bless the people in the Tarkana region of Kenya where we support missionary, Lynn Pottenger. We will be able to help Lynn in her classes as she prepares local pastors to speak English as a second language. We are the only church that supports Lynn to ever visit her since she’s been in Kenya. We want to continue that encouragement & support.

Show Low, Arizona
October 11-18

Servants will help the White Mountain Apache Christian Church with residents on the White Mountain Apache reservation with various tasks ranging from light construction to teaching children & adults on the reservation. We will begin meeting in July to prepare for this mission trip.

Missions update (9/2014)

Five awesome servants traveled to Haiti to help the students at Sonlight Academy & supported our missionaries there, the Bridges family. Three amazing volunteers traveled to the Tarkana region of Kenya to serve the people there supporting our missionary, Lynn Pottenger in her ESL class & doing a vacation bible school in the bush, among other things. The missions team also decided to do a “mission serve” in our community instead of doing a 4th missions trip. Seventeen wonderful participants helped with landscaping, cutting grass, & minor home repairs.

If you have any questions please email Steve Wieduwilt or call 229-7311 ext.243. More specific information including cost will be given at meetings for individual mission trips.
