Men’s Encounter is a weekend to spend with Jesus and connect with other men. During the weekend we will look at 14 different areas of men’s lives and discover God’s hand in all of them — through testimonies, teachings, and worship. The next weekend is March 20-22.  Men’s Encounter has the potential to change your life if you come with a humble and open heart, ready to allow God to change you from the inside out.  If you do, your life will never be the same!

Pre-Encounter:  Mark your calendars for Wednesdays March 11 & 18 @ 7:00 PM in Room A102.  It is preferred that you attend BOTH sessions. You will hear testimonies and teachings that will help prepare you to “Encounter the Cross” during this weekend. This is vital for your success. If you are unavailable to meet on these evenings, please email Glen Nash before Wednesday, March 11 or call (816) 229-7311 Ext. 228 or cell phone at 816-699-0536.

When do we meet to leave? Guys will check in &/or payment on Friday, March 20 between 5:15-5:45 PM in the Community Life Center (lobby) at Blue Springs Christian Church, 7920 SW Hwy 7.  Before we leave by bus to travel to the Encounter site, we will be enjoying a light meal of sub sandwiches, chips, soda/water, & cookies…plus additional Pre-Encounter activities.

Where is Encounter? Men’s Encounter weekend is about 55 minutes away from BSCC and held at Tall Oaks Camp & Conference Center near Linwood, KS. We prefer that all participants travel via a church provided bus to Tall Oaks Camp.

When do we return? We return to BSCC via bus transportation about 4:00 PM on Sunday afternoon.

Where do I park my vehicle? If you are planning to leave your vehicle at BSCC all weekend, please park under one of the light poles to the west of the work shed in the SW parking lot.  Drop your gear (except your Bible) outside at the BSCC Main Entrance, under the drive-through canopy and then park west of the work shed under the lightpoles.

When Do I Need to Register?  Now is always the best time!  You can register at any time (even Friday evening of Encounter), but it is recommended that you register at least 5 days prior to the Encounter so that appropriate arrangements can be made to maximize your Encounter experience!

How Do I Register?  We prefer that you register online here. You can also use a printed registration form from the Men’s Encounter brochure.

Additional Registration Information Needed: Besides the typical contact information, we would like to speak with your spouse (or a key family member) and/or a friend prior to the Encounter weekend to ask them to pray for and encourage you.

What is the cost to attend the Encounter Weekend? The cost is $100.00 for first-time participants.  If participating as a “Server,” cost is $80 per person.  Cash / debit cards / checks (payable to BSCC) are accepted. Payment arrangements are available.

What is included in the cost? Your payment provides 2 nights lodging at Tall Oaks Camp & Conference Center + bus transportation + 6 meals + soda/bottled water + snacks + all materials that you need for the Encounter Weekend.

What do I need to bring? When attending the Encounter weekend you will need to bring the following items: sleeping bag (or bedding), pillow, toiletries, towels, flashlight, medications, weather-appropriate clothes for 2 days & a Bible (keep it accessible, as you will need it first thing when arriving at camp).  Some men desire to bring a charging cord for a cell phone, but other electronic devices are discouraged.

Post-Encounter: A recommended, but optional, set of 7 discipleship lessons immediately follows Men’s Encounter to help you keep the commitments / decisions you made during Encounter. Post- Encounter starts Wednesday, March 25 at 7:00 P.M. at Blue Springs Christian Church in Room A102 in the Ministry Center (south building) near the BSCC Community Coffee House.
